Our Story

First comes love.
Then comes marriage.
Then comes baby in the baby carriage.

Not quite.

My husband and I met while working for a large retail company, just a few years out of High School. From the moment I laid eyes on him, I knew he was the one I had dreamed of. We dated for several years and eventually exchanged vows on a Friday afternoon in November of 1999. He works for a payroll company and I work for a private University in Southern California.

On the outside, our life looks perfect and even on the inside, for the most part, it feels perfect too. Except for one small facet. I was diagnosed at the age of thirty three with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) after a blighted ovum, a year later, a miscarriage, most recently, a failed IUI and too-many-to-count negative pregnancy tests.

Then the most amazing thing happened when we least expected it to. After more than 9 years of trying, I gave birth to our first child, Jacob Mario on Monday, October 17, 2011.

Despite my happiness, my heart still aches for the many bloggers turned friends and soul-cysters who are still struggling with the ups and downs of PCOS and trying to conceive. Even if I tried, I could never forget the long road that we had to travel to get here and for that reason, I hope to help other women who are trying to conceive - by showing them that miracles do happen but also by providing advice, support and encouragement. If I could tell you one single thing, it would be to never lose hope!

The posts below are just a fraction of our story:
